What a success at Kid's Day!!

The day itself went awesome! At times our booth was so overrun that we had to send kids and families down to the AADGC booth. We were definitely short handed, but JesseKasey, and Cooper pulled off the most AMAZING job with these kids I have ever seen! Jesse and Kasey in particular! We underestimated exactly how busy we would be!

These kids won a few hundred bucks worth of donated prizes and more than a few of them came back multiple times! I had a few parents compliment us on the work Kasey and Jesse were doing with their kids.

For al of us here at the GFVDGC, this is what it's all about! Thanks so much to the staff at Plamann Park for making this happen! Also, HUGE thanks to Scott for the big box of minis. Pretty sure we would have been short without that. Be sure to thank Play It Again Sports the next time you stroll through there and Brad Zuraski when you see him for the additional donations!

Kid's Day at Plamann Park!

Kid’s day is a fundraiser. Our
mission is to raise funds to
produce safe play spaces that will create fun and positive play
opportunities in a family friendly environment. The Greater Fox Valley Disc Golf Club booth will be
located just across the road from the Children’s  Zoo at the Meadoview course.

The GVFDGC will also have mini disc games with prizes to win and fun for all!

Tossing and Trading

Thanks to everyone who donated discs to the Outer Limits Youth Outreach Center! Bob Goyke, Cooper Harkins and Josh Hamm to rattle a few off the top of my head. We have a really great start for these kids and with the portable baskets to use in the gym, we see a bright future in Disc Golf with these young minds.

Also thanks to Brad Zuraski for running the BYOP tournament and raising a bit more! Huge thanks to the Forest Junction Civic League for providing hot food for everyone!

Thank you so

much to everyone!

Tradin Time!

Putt League and Expansion

Putt League this year will be indefinitely put on hold. As we did find a venue, we became aware of another league that had sprung up. We are non competitive in nature and they had chose to run the same day and times as our schedule. As a result we have decided to postpone league until next season. Unless of course another option presents itself. We will keep you posted.

In other fantastic news, we have been working with a fine group of fellow Disc Golfers from Green Bay. Some of which have been helping out in major ways with many GFVDGC projects and functions. They have chosen to open up The Greater Fox Valley Disc Golf Club - Green Bay! We openly welcome them to the Greater Fox Valley Disc Golf Association, llc. Their focus will be the same as the GFVDGC. So you can expect to see the same great work within the Disc Golf community as well as the surrounding community.

Congratulations guys, and welcome!

Plamann Park Update!

As you all know, we have been in talks with the staff at Plamann Park in regards to a few things. Mainly the winter/seasonal course at this point. There is a lot more, but we will surprise you with that later on when and if all is written in stone.

Mother Nature did win the battle on getting the new fairways playable for the winter on the Meadowview course. Plamann made the decision to halt the rest of the construction until spring. You know if it were up to us we would be out there in snow suits and pick axes pecking at the frozen ground. Plamann is leaving some pins in for play on both courses. If you are missing Plamann Park this winter you can still throw 3, 4, 17, and 18 on the Apple Creek course and 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 on the Meadowview course. When you get to the #6 pin feel free to walk the new fairway and path to the adjoining fairway back to the #7 teepad.

That's all for now. More when we have it!

Thanks for Throwing and Growing with us!

The Indoor Disc Golf Experience!

Brookfield Indoor Soccer Complex

19485 W. Lisbon Rd. Brookfield, WI. 53045

The GFVDGC, LLC is one of the many sponsors for this event. Be sure to make the drive down for this one of a kind unique indoor disc golf experience! Help our Veterans and just have a great time!

Plamann Seasonal Course Update

The good news is that the new fairways have been cut and the new pin locations have been marked. What we were not planning on was the vicious cold snap that suddenly took hold. This, unfortunately is going to halt anything else for the winter. As sad as we are to report this, the decision was made. The ground has frozen and it's just not going to be done. We are VERY excited over the progress that has been made, but for now it seems that Mother Nature has won this battle.

Indoor Putt League

December 6th is supposed to be our starting date for the Indoor putt league season. Unfortunately we have run into a venue snafu. It seems this year that pricing has become a pretty big hurtle. We are not giving up though, there are a few options we are looking into and trying to make happen. As soon as we know, you will know and there will be a schedule and location posted.

Expect a different format this year that better suits each players skill level and results in better win disbursement.

Coat Drive!

It's that time of year again! We are collecting coats and any warm items that may be cluttering up your closet, attic, drawers or otherwise. Same as last year, children's items will go to Coats for Kids and adult items will go to the Appleton warming shelter. Last year we donated over 200 items throughout the winter, so let's do it again or more this year!
